Imagine being able to help 2.6 billion people!
Help us transform waste into life-saving and life-changing heat-retentive cook bags!
Join us in helping 2.6 billion people on our planet to cook clean!
Today every third person on the planet cooks over an open fire to make their daily meal. This cooking is all consumptive and massively dangerous. At Eternal Flame Worldwide Ltd, we are working with communities across the globe to turn local waste into Eco Cook Bags.
The bags work through heat retention, and they work tremendously well. You prepare and boil your food as normal, but then once the food, the pan and the pan lid are piping hot, you place it into the insulated bag and then lock in heat!
The food then cooks at a very high temperature for hours – for free and without you! What's more, we are making the bags ethically, socially and locally, and every employee benefits from the sale of the product!
Traditional methods of cooking are a hugely consumptive and harmful activity.
According to the World Health Organisation, there is a death in the world every 20 seconds through nothing other than inhaling the smoke from fires upon which community members cook their daily meals.
This smoke is also hugely damaging to eyesight and hearing. Smoke also strongly impacts pregnant women and causes underweight and premature births leading to complications and death.
Hours upon hours of mundane tasks create an endless cycle of poverty and restrict access to education.
Eternal Flame's Eco Cook Bag is a 100% natural fibre “slow cooker” that reduces the cooking time over an open fire down to ninety minutes a day, saving lives, reducing deforestation, reducing trips to the well, locking in carbon, and most importantly, the bag is changing lives by freeing up time to allow women in emerging markets enter education, work, earn money, take up a hobby or simply spend more time with their family.
We aim to make millions of organic thermal cook bags that cook food once heated.
These bags will be made in the community using locally sourced materials and employing local people and will be biodegradable at end of life.
We aim to save lives, eyesight, and lungs one bag at a time.
• Uses 80% less water than traditional cooking techniques.
• Uses 75% less fuel than traditional cooking.
• Saves hours and hours on mundane cooking chores.
• Saves hours spent on water and fuel wood harvesting.
• Prevents illness and premature death from smoke inhalation.
• Prevents two tonnes of CO2 from being released each year.
• Is 100% organic and biodegradable.
Our goal is to grow our workforce globally with each member of staff becoming a full shareholder in the company.
Through our shared wealth business model, we already have a committed loyal team that is passionate about what they do.
We are activating these bags through extensive NGO networks by training the trainers thus ensuring the benefits of these cook bags are fully understood and utilised. Our NGO partners are also subsiding the purchase price of the bags to those end users that are not cash-rich, thus making these bags financially accessible to all.
The immediate future sees us prioritising our production in Tanzania and in Lesotho where fabrication is taking place within an off-grid solar-powered eco-lodge – Malealea Lodge.
We are also forging more relationships with like-minded NGOs that wish to join us on this journey.
Currently, we are approaching people and companies that share our vision of growth through socially orientated business with environmental stewardship at its heart.
